This year, Save the Med partnered with SailGP's sports supplements supplier 226ERS to address plastic usage in their product packaging, including energy gels, bars, and powdered isotonic beverages. By offering easy solutions, such as larger formats to reduce individual wrapping, we aimed to minimise plastic waste. 

 

Save the Med conducted a training workshop for the team to explain the importance of reducing plastic pollution at its source and how to use sustainable alternatives, raise awareness, create alliances, and develop strategies to tackle environmental challenges.

 

ACTIONS

• During the Cádiz leg of the SailGP competition, we conducted an environmental education workshop and a plastics analysis on the beach with a group of students from Colegio la Inmaculada. 

​

• We organised an interactive marine biodiversity workshop with different schools in Cádiz.

​

• We published a collaborative social media campaign showcasing various local and community initiatives to prevent plastic pollution and minimise carbon footprint.
